Think food trucks a la farm style and the freshest salad bars. Cozy corners with waiters bringing out a mini course.

Chef Corneli de Villiers (Cornelia’s Catering) makes use of our extensive organic vegetable garden. Her sumptuous cuisine and varied menus are complimented time and again.

From the buffet to the table. Bread baked freshly in the pizza oven. Home-made butter and jams. Think fire-grilled haute cuisine. Home-grown, natural, organic. Locally sourced. Think green.

Good food is Corneli’s passion, and no corners are cut to provide guests with an unforgettable gastronomic experience. The kitchen staff, all from the farm or the local village, function as a family. Whether it is making an old favourite like roosterkoek on the open fire, malva pudding with crème anglaise or a medallion of fillet steak done to perfection, you will savour the lovely lingering aftertaste for days to come.

But it is no wonder since the De Villiers family have a rich tradition of good food and hospitality. Old journals were found with detailed descriptions of daily menus, with up to seven formal meals served to the whole farm, and any visitor that happened to be present!

On the way to Beloftebos, you will drive past Hawtrey and Joan Judd’s organic vegetable garden that is almost the size of a netball field. The Judds, former missionaries from Nigeria, believe in green gardening methods. They themselves live from the garden and provide organic produce for the rest of the farm and local markets. The main reason why the garden was originally created, was for the weddings.
